Originally founded in 1964 as Blue Ribbon Sports in Beaverton, Oregon, Nike got its name in 1972 by the Ancient Greek godess of victory. Founders Bill Bowerman & Phil Knight first design was the Waffle Trainer and since then the number of all-time classic models is endless: Air Max series, the Air Force 1, the Dunk and the Blazer to name a few. These models and Nike’s key sponsorships and strategic marketing has made them today’s most valuable sportswear manufacturer in the world. The famous Swoosh (TM) logo, which adorns nearly all of Nike’s shoes, is a sign of quality and design perfection.
